Lydia enjoyed the sugar rush of the Valentine's Day candies given out by her classmates. She ate as much as she could as fast as she could. I wasn't picking up on this until I told her I thought she had had enough.
She argued and pleaded. She is my great negotiator and I talked her down from three more to one sucker. I should say that was after she had eaten several other pieces. All was well and she was happy and dancing and laughing until the sugar rush was done and then all she could do was cry for about 45 minutes. Those 45 minutes of crying were during the most stressful part of the day Dinner preparation hour. Now I see why teachers send the candy home instead of letting them eat it at school. They are so smart! I guess that why we call them teachers! Pay backs for all the mornings I send her to school after eating sugared cereal.
