Day 43 Leading and Growing

Planning dances, class activities, conducting meetings, and coordinating Laurel and Priest activities, and working with awesome youth and adult leaders, has been a growing experience for Emily. Emily has had the wonderful experience of being the Laurel class president for the last while. She has bloomed as a leader. Her personal growth has been tremendous. I have loved watching her. It wasn't so long ago that she was discouraged because no one could ever hear her voice or understand where she was coming from, but this last year she has had her voice heard over and over again. As the class president she has learned to share her feelings and thoughts, to stand up for herself and for the right and let her voice be heard. It's been a great opportunity to learn from some righteous women who have taught her how to lead by example and who have trusted Emily. I feel taken back and saddened that it will be a long while until Lydia will be in Young Women's and she will have an opportunity to serve in a presidency and grow like her sisters brave, strong, and determined.
